Dos
- Use only cool water when washing and rinsing the silk
- Wash and rinse each color separately, ensuring to change the water with each time
- Adding a water softener to the water (following manufacturer's instructions) can help eliminate mineral stains from hard water
- Adding a dash of plain white vinegar may help retain the silk fabric's true color
- Use a minimal amount of good quality liquid soap
- Use soaps that are recommended for delicate fabrics (following manufacturer's instructions)
- Make sure that the soap is thoroughly dissolved in the water before adding the silk to avoid soap stains
- If desired, for darker colors, use soaps designed for dark colors
- Gently wash the silk by hand without rubbing the fabric together
- Squeeze gently to remove excess of water while being mindful of not stretching the fabric
- Ensure that all soap is thoroughly removed from the silk
- If desired, adding a small pinch of salt to the final cool water rinse may help set the dye / first make sure that salt is completely dissolved in clean water before adding the silk
- To remove excess water, roll silk in a clean delicate towel and then leave to air dry
- Dry silk away from heat sources, sun, and surfaces with stain finishes
Don'ts

- Never rub silk together when washing or rinsing
